For the past decade in the industry of hospitality, Theme Resorts & Spas has lived by one core value, to “take care of our guests and associates.” This enduring value guides us as we face the challenge of responding to COVID-19, which the World Health Organization has now declared a pandemic. Although the Sri Lankan hospitality industry has faced many challenges in the past, this is the first occasion where Hospitality faces a global crisis.
During these difficult times, more than ever, the wellbeing of our guests, associates and other partners is of utmost priority for Theme Resorts & Spas. We ensure that we take every possible action to safeguard the health of our guests and associates in all possible ways.
We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and have taken additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests and associates. On a daily basis, our resorts across the island are working to ensure that they meet the latest guidance on hygiene and cleaning. We are closely monitoring the directions issued by the Ministry of Health of Sri Lanka and World Health Organization regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and are strictly following their guidelines and those of local health departments. All resort staff is advised to take extra preventive methods against the novel coronavirus in par with WHO guidelines.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented calamity and we highly appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments across the globe who are on the front line working to contain COVID-19.
